About Estelle

My name is Estelle, I am a four-year-old female Shih Tzu. True my breed’s history as a companion animal in China, I am everyone’s best buddy. If you are sitting, I am sitting with you, but perhaps after some joyful zoomies, back rolls, and a few bounces around the room. I am funny and very sweet and have a super sunny disposition. I love to cuddle with you on the bed, too. I will stay quiet all night as long as I am able to stay stuck on my people.

I am also very sociable and walk, hesitantly at first, up to anyone who comments on me on the street, which happens a lot. I am starting to think my name “Cutie”! On walks, I stay naturally at heel. But I stay so close to that you and do zig zag a bit, so have to watch out for my tiny feet. I also make a lot of eye contact on walks, which is great, as it means I aim to please and want to connect with my people.

I am clean in the house. I go regularly outside and am such a sucker for affection, lots of praise for doing business outside will soon solidify good toilet habits. I am already spayed and ready for my new family. So if you have time to devote to me, because I will be VERY devoted to you, apply for me, Estelle.

Rosie Animal Adoption does not have a shelter where you can come and meet the dogs. All showings are by appointment after your application has been approved, or at adoption clinics. Adoptions

If you adopt from Rosie, your dog will be vet checked, vaccinated for DHPP and Rabies (if the dog is over 4 months), given a treatment for fleas and parasites as well as spayed or neutered before adoption. Our adoption fee is $550, $450 for dogs of 8 and 9 years old and $300 for 10 years old and older.

Rosie Animal Adoption only rescues dogs - we are sorry that we are unable to rescue cats.

All dogs are Vet checked. Puppies up to 4 months receive first vaccines.
4 years old and up receive DAPP, rabies and leptospirosis.
All dogs fully dewormed.
Dogs over 7 months are heartworm/lymes ( 4DX snap test).
All dogs are spayed/neutered.
All dogs are microchipped

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
