Sally the Doodle

About Sally

Sally is lovely 6 year old golden doodle, with a lighter than usual coat colour, less golden and almost white. When her coat is a bit longer she has a decidedly sheep dog appearance, which is extremely cute.
Sally has a sweet and patient nature and enjoys being petted and having her ears scratched, and she will nudge your hand to continue if you stop before she has had enough! Sally is very dog friendly and would love to have a canine companion in her new home to show her the ropes. Sally came to us fully housebroken and knowing her basic obedience commands. She is a pretty quiet dog overall, not much of a barker, although she will let you know when someone is at the door. Sally loves to run and zooms around the yard at top speed for her own amusement. She loves to walk on her harness and, given her penchant for running, she would make a very able running partner if you needed one..
.
Sally would like to have a family in which someone is home much of the time. I work from home, and Sally spends virtually all her time (with the odd break for top speed running around the yard) curled up, napping nearby. Of course I go out sometimes, leaving Sally on her own, and return to a very excited dog, but absolutely no shenanigans while I was gone. Sally is just not destructive in any way. On the contrary, she is a gentle soul, very undemanding and low maintenance. Sally is the quintessential loyal companion, ever by your side, happy to just be near you..

Surrenders

Here at Rosie Animal Adoption, we understand that the decision to give up a family pet is not always an easy one and that the dog's best interests are always of paramount importance. Whether you have a family pet or a stray to surrender, please be aware that there are many unscrupulous people who are always on the lookout for unaltered dogs to breed strictly for profit. Dogs kept for this purpose, be it by a “backyard breeder” or “puppy miller,” are usually kept in inhumane conditions that are worse than you can imagine. We get many calls from people who are “in a hurry” to re-home their dogs, claiming that they simply cannot wait. With the increasing number of homeless dogs in the province of Quebec , our resources are always stretched to the limit and we do not always have immediate openings. We would ask that you please be patient when contacting our volunteers to surrender a dog.

We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can, and may also be able to refer you to another group that we are affiliated with, but the most important message here is to proceed very cautiously if you are giving away or selling your dog to someone who may be portraying a private individual. The best thing you can do is to be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered and the worse thing you can do is offer an unaltered pet “free to a good home.” We have seen what can happen.
